Where’s Hailie?

It’s the first day of school and Luke can’t seem to find Hailie. He doesn’t understand where she could be. He doesn’t realize that summer with his best friend is over until next year.

Luke searches the house in vain hoping to find his best friend. He never gives up, although, after a great deal of searching, he does take a long nap. It’s not until Hailie returns home that Luke understands where Hailie has been, and that she will always come back to him.
